Kevin, a homeowner in Sarasota, Florida, became concerned about the structural support in his crawl space after noticing widening gaps forming between his floors and adjacent walls over time. After calling us at LRE Foundation Repair for assistance, we quickly scheduled a free inspection with one of our expert Design Specialists to help identify any potential issues.
Upon entering the crawl space, our specialist observed that the wooden support joists had developed a noticeable slope, caused by the weight above and inadequate support below, as several block piers appeared to have settled.
A plan was created by our Design Specialist to provide durable and permanent support to the floor joists and lift them back into place with our SmartJack system. Kevin agreed to the plan, and our production team promptly began installing each SmartJack in key areas of the crawl space. This effective solution restored the floor joists to their proper position, eliminating the gaps between the floors and adjacent walls.
Kevin can now rest easy knowing that the structural support in his crawl space has been permanently stabilized and his home is secure.
The floors inside Kevin's home in Sarasota, Florida, had started to gradually sink, with large gaps forming between the floorboards and the adjacent walls and door frames. Concerned about potential structural issues in the crawl space beneath his home, he contacted us at LRE Foundation Repair for a free inspection. Our expert Design Specialist inspected the crawl space and immediately identified that the block piers supporting the home’s floor joists had settled, causing the joists to slope. To provide permanent support and stabilization, our team installed our state-of-the-art SmartJack system in key areas of the crawl space. Now, Kevin’s floors are level, and the gaps have been permanently closed.
Constance and Ben H. had been dealing with musty smells inside their home for a while and thought it might be coming from the crawlspace beneath the house. They decided to call LRE Foundation Repair to try and get rid of the smells once and for all. Upon an inspection in the crawlspace, LRE determined moisture damage, wood rot, and mold had arisen from a leaky pipe in the bathroom above. After the leak was fixed, LRE was able to treat and protect the wood in the crawlspace using a product called LumberKote. LumberKote is a subfloor polymer sealer solution that is non-toxic and resists mold, fungus, and other wood damage due to moisture. It protects the home in a one-step application process directly on the wood framing, drying quickly and leaving a protective coating behind. After the project was complete, these homeowners were happy with their cleaned crawlspace and odor-free home.
