Crawlspace Systems - Alarms, Flooding, and Power Issues

Alarm Sounding (with Remote Shut-Off):

  • Alarm may sound during heavy rain or flooding-this is normal.
  • Use the remote shut-off switch near your crawlspace door to silence it.
  • Turn the alarm back on after flooding subsides.
  • If alarm continues, contact our Service Department.

Alarm Sounding (without Remote Shut-Off):

  • Alarm will sound until water levels drop - this is expected.
  • If it continues post-flooding, call us to schedule a technician visit.

Pump or Dehumidifier Not Running:

  • Check that the unit is plugged into a dedicated outlet.
  • Avoid extension cords or power strips.
  • If still not working, contact us for service.

Power Loss During a Storm:

  • If alarm sounds during an outage, water is entering your crawlspace.
  • Consider installing a Battery Backup System. Ask our tech for details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should I contact if I'm concerned about my drainage system?

If you’re seeing signs of a drainage issue—like standing water that won’t go away, overflowing downspouts, or a sump pump that isn’t running—don’t hesitate to reach out.

Call our Service Department at (800) 580-0229, and we’ll walk you through a few quick checks or schedule a technician to take a closer look.

We’re here to make sure your system is doing its job and your home stays protected—especially during Florida’s rainy season.

How long should I wait before calling for service?

If you’re experiencing a serious issue—like flooding, a non-working sump pump, or an alarm that won’t stop—don’t wait. Call our Service Department right away at (800) 580-0229. We’ll help you troubleshoot and, if needed, schedule a technician.

For non-urgent concerns like minor pooling water or a system that’s slow to recover after a storm, we recommend giving it 24–48 hours. Once the ground has had time to drain, your system may return to normal operation on its own.

If the issue persists after that, it’s a good idea to reach out so we can check things out and keep your system running smoothly.

My street is flooded-will my drainage system still work?

If your street is flooded, your drainage system may struggle to keep up temporarily. That’s because when the ground is fully saturated and the surrounding area is underwater, there’s nowhere for the water to go until levels start to recede.

LRE drainage systems are designed to handle normal to heavy rainfall, but extreme weather events—like hurricanes or widespread street flooding—can overwhelm any system.

The good news? Once the street and surrounding soil begin to drain, your system should start working as expected again.

If standing water lingers long after the storm has passed, or you’re concerned about system performance, call us at (800) 580-0229 and we’ll be happy to take a look

Is pooling water normal with my LRE drainage system?

Yes—temporary pooling can be normal, especially after heavy rain or during tropical storms. LRE’s drainage systems are designed to manage typical rainfall by directing water away from your home and crawl space. However, during severe weather, the ground can become oversaturated, and local street flooding can overwhelm even the best systems.

In most cases, the water will recede once conditions improve and the system has time to catch up. If you still notice standing water several days after the storm, or if you think your system isn’t draining properly, give us a call at (800) 580-0229. We’ll be happy to inspect it and ensure everything is working as it should.

Why is there water pooling in my yard after the storm?

It’s not uncommon to see water pooling in your yard after a heavy Florida storm, especially if the ground is already saturated. Our drainage systems are designed to handle typical rainfall, but extreme weather, like tropical storms or hurricanes, can overwhelm even the best setups.

Here’s what to know:

  • The pooling is usually temporary. Once the rain stops and the water table lowers, your system should begin draining properly again.
  • Street flooding and high groundwater levels can slow down how quickly your yard dries out—this is a natural part of Florida’s storm cycle.
  • Still seeing standing water days later? That may be a sign of a blockage or grading issue. Give us a call, and we’ll come out to inspect the system.

If you’re concerned, contact our Service Department at (800) 580-0229. We’re happy to check your system and ensure everything is functioning as it should.
