Settling Block Piers
Upon inspection of the crawl space, the LRE Design Specialist discovered that many of the block piers supporting the home's floor joists had settled into the soil below.
Inefficient Crawl Space Support
The inspection of the crawl space revealed several temporary measures that had been used to compensate for the lack of proper support caused by the settling block piers. Pieces of wood had been inserted between the piers and floor joists as makeshift shims; however, these quick fixes proved ineffective in providing lasting or adequate structural support.
Installing SmartJack System
The LRE team installs each SmartJack in the crawl space, carefully measuring and adjusting them to ensure a proper fit and provide adequate support for the floor joists.

The SmartJacks have been successfully installed by the LRE team to permanently stabilize the home's floor joists.
