DoubleTree Hotel Exterior
Located in Tampa, Florida, the DoubleTree Hotel was a long-standing establishment located near the Tampa International Airport. Its close proximity to Interstate I-275 posed a significant challenge to its safe demolition.
Debris Removal
As the building is being prepared to be demolished, debris is removed from the inside as the LRE team injects the PL 400H material into the hollow cell blocks.
LRE PolyLevel Units
The LRE team deployed two polyurethane pumping units to expedite the completion of the installaion.
Polyurethane Injections
17,000 pounds of PL 400H hydrophobic two-component rigid polyurethane (PolyLevel) was injected into about 2,000 hollow concrete block cells.
Filling Concrete Cells
To ensure a safe and controlled demolition of the building, it was necessary to fill the hollow concrete cells with the Polyurethane solution before the placement of explosive charges.
Interstate Proximity
Situated directly adjacent to Interstate 275, the demolition of the DoubleTree Hotel had to be executed with the utmost control to safely prevent debris from entering the nearby traffic lanes.
