Photo Album: Permanent Stabilization Solution for Sagging Floors in Chiefland, Florida

With plans to make his Chiefland, Florida residence his permanent home, Theodore needed to address a side of his home that had shown signs of instability. The floors appeared to be sagging, and he didn’t want to wait for the problem to get worse. He called LRE Foundation Repair and set up an appointment for a free inspection of his crawl space. After careful examination, an LRE Design Specialist found that the original block piers that were supporting the floor joists above had settled into the ground, causing the floors in the home to sag. To provide permanent stability to the floor joists and level the floors, the LRE team installed a series of SmartJacks in the crawl space to replace the support originally provided by the block piers. Unlike standard block piers, SmartJacks are comprised of corrosion-resistant galvanized steel and are not susceptible to soil settlement. With this solution in place, Theodore and his family can now feel at ease knowing their long-term home is safe and secure.
