Amanda K. from Altamonte Springs, FL, reached out to LRE Foundation Repair to fix her home's sagging floors. An appointment was arranged with one of our Design Specialists, who conducted a thorough inspection of the property's crawl space and proposed a solution. The Specialist found several areas where the wooden floor joists required additional support.
The Design Specialist created a customized plan for the crawl space, which involved installing our SmartJack System to provide permanent stability to the wooden joists that supported the floor above. These SmartJacks are made of corrosion-resistant galvanized steel and are cut to the appropriate size to fit under and provide sufficient support to the floor joists.
After finalizing the plan, the LRE production crew began installing the SmartJacks at specific locations in the crawl space, adjusting them to the appropriate size and securing the foundation for long-lasting stability. Upon completion of the installation, Amanda was delighted to have a permanent solution in place, ensuring that her home's floor would no longer sag.
Eunice W. noticed severe settlement damage to the back patio of her home in Altamonte Springs, Florida. She also saw visible cracks on the outside walls of her house. Concerned about the situation, she decided to call LRE Foundation Repair for a possible solution. LRE inspected the home and found that unstable soil conditions were the root cause of the damage. They created a plan to eliminate the present and future damage permanently.
To address the issue, LRE first installed helical piers at the corner of the property. Helical piers are galvanized steel posts with an anchor-like helical welded to each. These are advanced into the soil near the home using small construction equipment. As the pier is advanced, pressures are monitored closely as the pier works to compact and stabilize the soil. Once it reaches the appropriate depth, a bracket is attached and custom-fitted to attach to the foundation's footer. This creates a solid supporting base that transfers the weight of the home onto supporting soils and the pier system. This system can even provide lift to areas of the structure that need additional leveling.
After completing the project, LRE successfully prevented future damage and stabilized the homeowner's property for good. Eunice W. could finally rest easy knowing that her home was safe and sound.
