The homeowners of this lakefront property in Odessa, Florida were looking to add an addition to their home. They approached LRE Foundation Repair for a solution. Upon inspection, LRE identified that the soft and unstable soil conditions, being in close proximity to a body of water, would require additional support for the future building site. The solution recommended by LRE was pre-construction piers, which are used to support and stabilize a structure and protect it from settling or sinkhole-like conditions. These galvanized steel helical tubes are drilled into the ground until they reach competent soil depths. The tops of these piers are cut to footing levels, where the footing bracket and plate are welded and attached. Rebar is added, and then the footing is poured, making this assembly a permanent fixture to the new foundation. Now that the foundation rests on these piers and not unstable soils, the future of this new property is protected, providing the homeowners with the peace of mind they were looking for.
